AdsUncovered aims to publish accurate, fair and up-to-date information.
We research products, services, companies, advertising claims, pricing, subscriptions, cancellation policies, customer complaints and other topics that can change over time. Despite reasonable efforts to verify information, errors can happen and previously accurate information can become outdated.
When we identify a material error, we aim to correct it.
What We Correct
Corrections may include factual errors involving:
- company names or ownership
- pricing
- subscription terms
- renewal charges
- cancellation procedures
- refund policies
- product features
- dates
- contact information
- statements attributed to companies or individuals
- descriptions of advertisements
- other verifiable factual information
We may also update articles when new information materially changes the context or accuracy of previously published content.
What Is Not Automatically a Correction
A disagreement with our editorial opinion does not necessarily mean that a correction is required.
Similarly, we do not automatically remove or change content because:
- a company dislikes criticism
- a customer disputes another customer’s experience
- an advertiser disagrees with our interpretation of an ad
- a company changes its terms after publication
- a third party requests removal without providing evidence of an error
We distinguish between factual errors, editorial analysis, user-reported experiences and opinions.
Customer Reviews and User Reports
AdsUncovered may reference reviews, complaints, Reddit discussions, app-store reviews, social media posts and other user-generated content.
When we describe such material, we aim to make clear that it represents what users are reporting rather than an independently verified fact, unless additional evidence supports the claim.
If a quoted or summarized user report is inaccurate or misleadingly presented, we may correct or clarify our description.
Requests From Companies and Individuals
Companies, organizations and individuals mentioned in our articles are welcome to contact us if they believe information is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated.
A useful correction request should include:
- the URL of the AdsUncovered article
- the specific statement you believe is incorrect
- the correct information
- supporting evidence where available
- a link to an official or reliable source, if relevant
We review credible correction requests and supporting documentation.
Submitting a request does not guarantee that content will be changed or removed.
How We Handle Corrections
For minor errors, such as spelling mistakes or formatting issues, we may correct the article without adding a formal correction notice.
For material factual corrections, we may update the article and, where appropriate, add a note explaining what was changed.
If new information does not make the original reporting incorrect but adds important context, we may add an update rather than a correction.
Updated Information
Prices, subscription terms, refund policies, app features and company information can change frequently.
If an article was accurate when published but later becomes outdated because a company changes its terms, we generally treat this as an update rather than an error.
We aim to update important information when we become aware of relevant changes, but we cannot guarantee that every article reflects the most recent information at all times.
Readers should verify current prices and terms directly with the provider before making a purchase or subscription decision.
Content Removal
Corrections do not automatically require removal of an entire article.
We may consider removing content in exceptional circumstances, including where:
- the article is fundamentally inaccurate
- reliable evidence shows that continued publication would be seriously misleading
- publication creates a significant legal or safety concern
- removal is required by applicable law
In most cases, correcting or updating the relevant information is preferable to deleting an article.
Transparency
Our goal is not to defend an error once one has been identified.
If reliable evidence shows that something we published is wrong, we want to correct it.
At the same time, we will not change accurate reporting simply because it is inconvenient, critical or disputed.
